Austins going to Sadie Hawkins

Bry and I had just gotten home from who knows where... Ok it was from picking up my killer iron gates from the DI that I'm going to paint aqua  more on that latter and you are going to swoon!!!!  anyway Bry sees something on the front porch and calls me up to take a look.   I couldn't keep from laughing while calling Austin to get his fanny home to see who had asked him to the dance.

I told him he should respond with baby girl undies that said I'll be even briefer and just say YES!

Tanners 16

We have been celebrating Tanners birthday for a week.  It started with  candy bars for breakfast, don't judge me its just once a year.  Then a Costco cake for his class at school after which Bry took him to boondocks where they mini golfed did go carts then got rained on.  Good news is they have rain checks to go another day yea way to drag it out!!!  Then we took a few of his friends in his Sunday school class to a movie pizza and more cake.

they had so much fun and Tanner felt like a rock star there we 16 of us for his 16th birthday. We did miss some of his friends, so Tanner informed us he needs anouther party so he can invite the rest of the gang, I promptly said no!

Sunday we had him ordained a priest it was so neat, Bry gave him such a neat blessing.  I truly hope that all who hears him bless the sacrament will be touched by his wanting to so bad to do so.
We had the whole family over for dinner ok not the whole family cause the cousins think it too far to drive or people have meetings or what ever but it was great and the food was yummy (white spicy dip for tortilla chips, will post that later)  and more cake this time from Shmits  our favorite chocolate mint again our favorite and yes we ate the whole thing like the pigs we are.  so lets recap candy bars for breakfast 3 cakes pizza Mexican chips and salsa  over all a great b-day  Happy Sweet 16 Tanner!

Proms and Parties

Tanner looked so cute going to his first prom.  The PLT class asked out the special need kids.  They took them to spaghetti mamas and then the dance where they took pictures and danced.  When Tanner got out of the car he headed straight for This darling girl.  He said "You my date!"  This was said as a statement not a question and she smiled and said Yes Tanner I'll be your date.  DARLING GIRL!!!!  Austin and Brock said that Tanner danced with every girl at the dance.  He would just go up to them and say hey wana dance?  even if they had a date.  He really got around.  He had so much fun and thinks that Prom should be every weekend.
Austin also went to prom with a darling friend of the family Ashley  she lives in Bountiful and after grabbed his corsages at 3:00 I didn't see him till Sunday at 11 when he walked into church.  I don't count the 10 min when he came home Saturday night (he spent Fri night at Brandon's Grandparents house in Kaysville) and told me a bit about the dance cause I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open.  He loves his purple bow tie and spenders that he gets to keep seeing that he no longer has to rent a tux when his choir tux will work just fine,  that saves us 100$.

Why do I have a photo of Austin and all his friends corsages?  well I always make Austins cause it cost 28$ for a three rose corsage at Harmon's.OUCH  so I just do it, they never look that professional but I put a lot of bling in it so the girls think they're cute.  I was stressing when Austin said I he needed 5 but I think I pulled it off they all looked different and I love the black one with the feathers my fav!!! the picture is diseving they are real big and heavy I was worried they would be slipping off the girls wrists all night.
Party time.... I love to have a party how ever my house is so small and with 8 families it was kinds squishy but hey we are all friends and love to cuddle up!  5 of us had to go to a trek fireside so it was eat fast and talk fast and clean up fast.  But oh so fun I just love our neighborhood!  I won a "House Party"  for Philly cream cheese and they sent me  a box of fun stuff so I did have cute take away favors.

My cute aunt Cheryl's friend (did you get that?)  asked her to decorate for her daughters wedding.  She called me for ideas and what do you think I said?.....
I told her to make these darling easy coffee filter flowers and use them on the tables.  And that's just what she did.  I made some darling tags that she could tie on to things (branches, glass, cake stands, or sprinkled on the table)

I also did the soup signs...10 different kinds of soup not to mention the bread and dessert bar! it turned out darling way to go Cheryl!

Newport beach fab retreat!

I had so much fun getting away for a week all by myself. Ok I was with my mom and dad in Newport Cal. at the Marriott. I did nothing but well babysit my mom and dad and boy that was hard let me tell you!!

Every night when the tied was going out we would look for sea glass down at Crystal Cove.  Last year I found a small handful this year I had a huge baggie full.  Then when I left my mom said that it was all gone and their was no more small pile of rocks just sand.  Its amazing that different times of day and month really affect the tied and our sea glass obsession.
I love Rogers floral and deco store. I could spend all day there smelling the flowers and looking at all the pretty things.  They were getting so mad that I was taking pictures with my phone.  they kept giving me dirty looks but I just loved the ideas and I know I wouldn't be able to remember them when I got home.

 Will boys ever grow up?

If you look close you can see the sea lions, there were five of them and they were playing in the water splashing around they were so fun to watch.
getting chocolate marshmallow malts at the shake spot atop crystal cove.
all I can say is YUMM I love sea food and there is nothing better than fresh shrimp from the crab cooker!
We also at Blue water.  It was the second best lobster roll I have ever had ( the first being on the Jersey shore).
Love the Newport temple so beautiful and peaceful.  not to mention the 6 Bentley's in the parking lot, i guess really rich people know the Church is true too.
view from our deck at the Marriott.

Valentines Party

I love Valentines day!  I spent all day on Friday at the kids school doing Valentine's parties.  They were so cute passing out their valentines to each classmate.  We played games and ate sugar cookies you know the basics.  The funny thing this year is that I let the kids decorate their own valentine boxes.  Taylor had kissing stuffed animals on top of his and Brittons was a toilet that said Love Stinks.  So funny!  when I got to school i was amazed at all the creative moms out their who come up with some amazing boxes.  (Maybe next year)

I don't do much decorating for Valentines day but I'm obsessed with coffee filter flowers and made a heart and a wreath for my deco this year.  I love white as you well know so this fit in so well with my living room!

ok so you can't see but my gold silverware was a big stand out on the burlap table cloth I made.  just the right amount of sparkle, texture and early 90"s flatware! he he

Every year I host a  party for Christmas or Valentines day.  This year I had some fun neighbors over for dinner.  I love decorating and doing take home gifts.  So much fun.

we had chicken pillared and for dessert (along with the desert bar) we had chocolate souffles YUMM!  I was worried that they would fall but they were creamy and chocolaty. (ok 2 more min in the oven would have been a bit better).
I love photoshop!  and I love the way my valentine deco looks with my new turquoise deco this year!
