I kinda like my little New Port "getaways". I always feel bad for my
hubby and kids who are not invited to stay with Nana and Papa for a
bit. Adults only. My only wish is for Jeff and Marcee to come stay with me too!!!
\
Loved the first glimpse of the
beach..... this seagull had taken over someones towel had to giggle a
bit!
The Marriott's views are unbelievable the golf course Crystal Cove. and the cute little towel animals they leave for you . I really should learn how to do that for my kids.
So me in Calie and Bry ice fishing with the kids last Saturday. He
said it was beautiful sunny and 35 degrees which is warm lately.
Didn't catch anything for dinner but that's ok they ate the pheasant he
shot a few days before. LOL (Bry went with friends)
The store Bliss my favorite one in New Port, its right on the main drag
and the whole store looks like I could just wrap it up and bring it
home, but alas it was a little expensive the 4.800$ console table will
just have to wait sigh.....
This little chalk board is from a shop in Laguna, I love the nautical
feel of the place. I always have to go in there and I'm still regretting
not getting a glass buoy from last year. It was not there surprise
surprise.
We did drive down to San Diego for the day it was a bit cloudy, but eating at Anthony's on the water was so beautiful.
I have to admit I have a little obsession with sea glass, I hunt it like
my husband hunts wildlife. I just can't get enough and i love treasure
hunting! I found so many beautiful pieces on the beach this year.
and back home i go to put these little summer shoes away for a few more months.

Tanners big night
I don't know what it is about having a child with special needs. One minute you are wondering if you are ever going to make it through the day and the next is an amazing experience that gives you a glimpse of a bigger picture.
Tanner is a very social child and is always wanting to hang out at Maddi's house or go over to Bommers. So I try very hard to keep him busy with sports special needs YM our ward YM and scouts. Its Tanners Sr. year at Alta and with it comes Sr. banquets and lots of sadness for Tanner at times. He thinks he is going to the U to play football with Harrison Handley, its so hard to tell him this is it.
At the Sr Banquet Harrison won an award "The Impact Player of 2012" Your not a kidding! He is a super star, all the little leaguers look up to him, he's kind, he's put together, and he's smart! This darling boy who seems to have it all has one more thing, the most important thing i think a person should possess a kind heart. He took Tanner under his wing in football, made him feel special like one of the boys. He treated him like any other player and for this I will be forever grateful.
But to show you the real character of this boy you have to know this. After he won his big award this big cool trophy that he can show his kids.... He quietly said thank you, walked down from the front and walked up to tanner and said this trophy is for you buddy and gave him a hug and a high five. Not many people saw that not many people knew what he had done. Tanner couldn't put the trophy down he kept kissing it saying "me and Harrison" (he even slept with it).
(Cole Meyers)
We went over to Harrison after the banquet and said there is no way we can take this!! He said Tanner is one of his best friends and he was honored to give it to him. I cried all the way home, I was so filled with gratitude for loving football players. It was a highlight in my life as well.
(Chipper)
When Tanner was born I was told I will have my highest highs and my lowest lows. Well we have had our share of Lows, but this was a high The highest of highs, the epitome of love and respect and friendship I never thought Tanner would ever have from someone outside our family. I'm so grateful for these Alta football players, Chipper, Cole, Carson, Alex there are too many to count and so many I don't even know who befriend Tanner. To you there are no word of gratitude my heart is too full of love for you. Thank you for being who you are and loving Tanner, you will forever be etched in my heart!

Happy New Year
Happy New Years!! I can't wait to get this year started. I love all the blogs out there that are choosing a word for the year. I love the idea of having a word that will inspire me all year. I just didn't want one word so I picked a phrase, Enjoy the Journey, that's how i end all my letters to Austin and how i want to live my life.
If we can't enjoy what we have now then we will never enjoy it when we get what we think we want. So i am going to take more time to enjoy, if that means a floor with crumbs and a less than perfect bathroom then so be it! I know its going to be so hard to let things go but time is racing by and i want to enjoy every minute of it! so if that little phrase shows up time to time in my decor or on my blog. Its just because I'm needing a little reminder.
So...... enjoy the journey
ps if you want a tutorial on the new years deco go to theglitzypear.blogspot.com

Parties I set up this week
I love a good party. And I love fussing and setting up a pretty table
and buffet. I had two parties this past week and boy, it was crazy!
The first is for a cute friend of mine Rhonda Swant, she has a darling
day spa by the way called beauty addix and her facials are
delightful!
She wanted me to set up for a dinner party so I brought some darling things to spruce up her already decked out home!
Dinning Table
Buffet Table
The next little gig was for a cute friend of mine who Caters parties and weddings and I always love helping her set up for her events. this is the buffet table I set up, don't you love those little red vintage houses?
the desert table is my favorite!! just look at all those cookies and cupcakes. I love using pedestal's and tiered trays, it just shows off all the yummy sweets! You can see i put square dishes on a round glass cake plate, just use what you have and remember levels levels levels... Then to top it off with the hot chocolate at the end WOW!
She had that banner done at Cougar Copy, they do such a great job, if you can't make a banner by hand. It still looks special and festive!
I loved using red and green, the next party is all white and natural I'll post that next week if I survive!

I think you can copy this link in you browser and see the video, its darling, or go to my Facebook page.
Tanner was so cute on Studio 5 today. They did a great story on him and the Alta football team. What a great thing it has been to have Tanner participate in sports at Alta High. I was so worried that he would be teased and sad and never live a full life. Seeing him at school or just out and about in the community makes me happy. I never thought he would be so popular and have so much fun! From proms to girl choice dances, football, swim, and baseball Tanner has done it all. we are so proud of you Tanner!!!

austin letter
So this week was filled with a whole lot of service
and tracking again. Other than that we had a good week this week on the
service list was clean out a nasty SES pool. There was a semi investo
who has been investigating for a few years
now and we helped him with his little pond that he has in his back yard
I had to shop vac it out then clean out the leaves then scrub it down
with bunch of Clorox and man that was the worst thing I have ever
smelled. It wasn’t that hard it was pretty small
but it had been like that for a year and a half so it was pretty
rancid. Like rotten eggs milk and some moldy trash in one combined smell
it was not pleasant but it had to be done!
The next went to the Yoder’s and shoveled coal for
them for a good 2 hours that was so hard if you want another good work
out just go shovel a pile of coal for 2 hours every day. Then later that
night we got to sort potato into bags for
an hour then basketball to top it all off that was such a hard morning
to get up form the next day. Then we went to brother Taylors and helped
him with a bunch of little things that he was not able to do. Moving
furniture and stuff like that.
But two cool missionary stories happened this week.
One is, we where tracking and this woman had been praying for her son
to get his faith back and wanted to know how to do that. Later that day
we knocked on her door so that was really
awesome she let us in we talked to her and her 2 daughters her husband
and son were out hunting. Then later in the week we got a call from this
guy named Larry who said that he wants to change his life and his
brother is a member in Las Vegas ward and his
brother told him to call us. He did and he came to church he wants to
meet and take the lesson and he is golden!
Thanks for all that everyone does whether you are a
missionary or just a normal everyday Joe you are all god’s children and
all he wants for us to do is come back to him. Once we do this we will
feel joy and peace. I’m so thankful for everyone
this thanksgiving season and for all the blessing that out loving
heavenly father has given us. Be safe and have a good thanksgiving eat a
lot for the missionaries that may not be able to eat that much. I will
hopefully be taken care of :)!!!
With all my love everybody,

We are in!!!
Its been three months of renovating, painting and stress but we are
finally in our new home. Yes yes yes I know we are no where near done
with the renovating, painting and stress but we are living at our new
address. I don't know why this is so hard for me. I love to have a
project going, the problem is I'm soooo busy with all my other jobs I
can't seem to get unpacked and finish this house!!!
Bry says be patient, ok I will how ever I can not be patient with everything strew from here to New York. If I could just put a few things away I would be so happy.
I painted the cabinet doors cream and took out the rock back splash behind the stove. As you can see we don't have the tile put in yet nor do we have a working hood at the moment. the hood I want is 1,200$ and needless to say that is not going to happen. Bry is going to make a cute cover for the hood and trim it out with a drop hood, when I do not know as his to do list is a mile long.
The island is also going to be ripped out next summer it does not have an over hang for the bar stools and it only seats three very uncomfortably so we will make a larger one that will seat five and be bigger to utilize the space.(and when i say we I mean Bry)
The laundry room is one of my favs so far, however its far from complete but it so much more open. We knocked out the closet from my office and will be putting in cabinets and a folding table. For now I have two little armories from Ikea that I just painted white that will work till I can get the real thing. Also waiting on a little sink for the corner of the room, its plumbed but again the $$$ thing.
I know I know it still has the tape on from painting it black. I'm not quite finished. I bought a high gloss paint and started painting away because that whats I did with my door at the other house. Well this door is so old and there is no over hang to keep the weather off of it???? so it was flaking like crazy so I'm going to have to do the final coat in a mat finish to hide all the imperfections.
Last but not least is my family room again the rock???? (not a fan) we took out the rock and arch and just dry walled a fireplace in. Again not finished, the tile is picked out the mantle is number 14 on brys to do list so spring maybe??? but for know it looks ok, just need to clean up a bit still trying to find spots to put things in.
