Tanners Birthday

Tanner was in for a big surprise last night.  We threw him a surprise party for his 18th birthday.  He has talked about this day for the entire year.  He had know idea that so many people would come and celebrate with him.  When we turned on the lights and yell surprise he almost started to cry he was so happy, but usual Tanner fashion he struck a pose and started hamming it up.
So many darling friends, the ward, neighbors, football boys, swim team friends.  I'm so blessed that so many people are helping to raise and love my guy.  What would I do without you? Thank you is not enough to express my love for these exceptional people!

Maddi is talking Tanner to Sadie Hawkins, isn't her boy friend so sweet for letting her? Love those Holt's!!
Pin the football on Tanner and the face painting went over well, but mostly we just played ball and hung out.
Oh the swim gang.  How we love them.  Tanner misses swim but is now in the thick of Baseball going to Soph, Jr. and Sr. games.  He loves all sports, and how blessed I am that there are so many kids willing to help him, drive him home, and take care of him when I can't be there.

Tanner sneaking in a kiss when ever he gets a chance what a Lady's man.  Sorry Jessi for the sloppy kiss, your such a great sport.
Tanner is obsessed with supper hero's, so of course his friends got him a cute mask and shield which I'm sure he will not take off!!
Harrison his best buddy!!!  If it wasn't for this guy Tanner would be a mess next year.  All the kids are leaving on missions and moving on from High School and yet Harrison wants to take him to Utah football practice and keep him active!!  I just want to cry with the love I feel for Harrison and all the others who love my boy. You will be so blessed in heaven for all your service you do for him.  I don't know how I got so lucky to have all you wonderful people surrounding me, and Tanner. Thank you Thank you for all you do!  Happy Birthday Tanner

March

This has been a busy crazy month!! so lets get started!
Baseball season is in full swing, and Tanner is loving every min of it!!

Pine wood derby for Taylor,  his car came in first and second for every race, however there were 30 cars and he came in 9th over all.  I"m wondering if it was because it had about 10 coats of spray paint and was really bumpy and lumpy! LOL

Tanner was asked to Sadie Hawkins by his favorite girl Maddi H.  He is so in love with her and I so want her to marry Austin, (that's another story.)  He He He
The swim banquet was this month and such a fun and sad night.  Tanner is going to miss swimming and the kids that made it so great!  I can't wait for Austin to come home from his mission next year so that he can swim with Tanner every day.
Tanners family Birthday party was fun, family and friends, this was his favorite gift.  Go Utes!  He is having a huge surprise party on Wed so I'll upload some photos soon.

The dog.... I have never owned a dog before, its hard!!  Zoe is darling and really a great dog, however she is a dog and she licks, YUCK!  But the kids love her and take care of her. really Tanner has needed a dog for years now. I'm surprised I got away with out a dog for so long.

Spring break in Mesquite

Some of the mamas who stayed till Friday, a few of our darling friends had left a little early. How I love to talk and hang out with these beautiful women. I look up to them so much in so many ways.  How I dearly love my friends.
Tanner was attacked the min we got to the pool and tatted up, he loved showing off his tattoos every min, to all the girls who would look at him.  Those teenagers were darling with Tanner.

We swam layed in the warm sun ate stayed up late went to movies, saw a fantastic magic show and shopped at the Toucan swap meet.  Bry mt biked, golfed and stayed up late enjoying his friends!!

Austin is doing well on his mission. He has mono uughh I feel so bad.  I wish I could fly over there and make him take a nap every day.  His mission President knows and is now trying to help him with his tendonitous and arthritis in his joints. That poor kid I sure hope he makes it 10 more months!!  I love hearing about the work back there and hearing how much he is growing as a person.  A  mission will sure change a boy into a man!!

Easter was fun with the cousins we had two dinners one for a darling friends missionary farewell and one at Grandma Inkley's  I'm still stuffed!

Tays room redo

Tay's room is almost done. I know I know its taking us forever to do anything!!! But when your a working girl what ya gona do?  I love the ombre effect I got when I painted Tays dresser.  I kept adding white with each drawer I painted.  (missing three handles???? we will find them someday I'm sure)
Last weekend Bry finally got to putting up all the tin roofing we had in the garage, on Tays wall.  It looks so cool.  I have some huge bolts and screw heads that I will drill in this weekend.  I can't wait to finish it.  He has already found my magnets and is wanting to put up his masterpieces.
I have the cutest fabric for pillows and curtains but Tay is whining about having curtains.  "they are too girly"  he says.  Even though they are gray.  I will just have to do it on the sly and hope he learns to live with them.. Hee Hee

This is his chalk board wall.  I love how it turned out. although he is only allowed to color in the recessed part of the board.  I don't want it to look too messy.  and I did buy the greatest paper to cover the magazine holders for his desk, a project for another day.  Like I said a work in progress but i do see the light at the end of his little tunnel.

I kinda like my little New Port "getaways".  I always feel bad for my hubby and kids who are not invited to stay with Nana and Papa for a bit.  Adults only. My only wish is for Jeff and Marcee to come stay with me too!!!
\
Loved the first glimpse of the beach..... this seagull had taken over someones towel had to giggle a bit!

The Marriott's views are unbelievable  the golf course Crystal Cove.  and the cute little towel animals they leave for you . I really should learn  how to do that for my kids.
So me in Calie and Bry ice fishing with the kids last Saturday.  He said it was beautiful  sunny and 35 degrees which is warm lately.  Didn't catch anything for dinner but that's ok they ate the pheasant he shot a few days before.  LOL (Bry went with friends)
The store Bliss my favorite one in New Port, its right on the main drag and the whole store looks like I could just wrap it up and bring it home, but alas it was a little expensive the 4.800$ console table will just have to wait  sigh.....
This little chalk board is from a shop in Laguna, I love the nautical feel of the place. I always have to go in there and I'm still regretting not getting a glass buoy from last year.  It was not there surprise surprise.
We did drive down to San Diego for the day it was a bit cloudy, but eating at Anthony's on the water was so beautiful.

I have to admit I have a little obsession with sea glass, I hunt it like my husband hunts wildlife.  I just can't get enough and i love treasure hunting!  I found so many beautiful  pieces on the beach this year.

and back home i go  to put these little summer shoes away for a few more months.

Tanners 3 pointer

Tanner lives for sports.  He begs to get into the game no matter what the sport!  The Priest are playing church ball every Thursday night, Tanner comes home from school on Thursdays and is in his basket ball shorts before i even say hi.

Last week he made a 3 pointer and we didn't hear the end of it for days.  So this week Bry was prepared with his cell phone to see if Tanner would score again.  He made 7 points in the game and wouldn't you know it our ward won by 7 points.  What a great group of boys we have.  Thanks 10th ward Boys you rock.

Tanners big night

I don't know what it is about having a child with special needs.  One minute you are wondering  if you are ever going to make it through the day and the next is an amazing experience that gives you a glimpse of a bigger picture.

Tanner is a very social child and is always wanting to hang out at Maddi's house or go over to Bommers.  So I try very hard to keep him busy with sports special needs YM our ward YM and scouts.  Its Tanners Sr. year at Alta and with it comes Sr. banquets and lots of sadness for Tanner at times. He thinks he is going to the U to play football with Harrison Handley, its so hard to tell him this is it.

At the Sr Banquet Harrison won an award  "The Impact Player of 2012"  Your not a kidding!  He is a super star, all the little leaguers look up to him, he's kind, he's put together, and he's smart!  This darling boy who seems to have it all has one more thing, the most important thing i think a person should possess a kind heart.  He took Tanner under his wing in football, made him feel special like one of the boys.  He treated him like any other player and for this I will be forever grateful.

But to show you the real character of this boy you have to know this.  After he won his big award this big cool trophy that he can show his kids.... He quietly said thank you, walked down from the front and walked up to tanner and said this trophy is for you buddy and gave him a hug and a high five.  Not many people saw that not many people knew what he had done.  Tanner couldn't put the trophy down he kept kissing it saying "me and Harrison" (he even slept with it).
                                                                   (Cole Meyers)
We went over to Harrison after the banquet and said there is no way we can take this!! He said Tanner is one of his best friends and he was honored to give it to him.  I cried all the way home, I was so filled with gratitude for loving football players.  It was a highlight in my life as well.

                                                                      (Chipper)
When Tanner was born I was told I will have my highest highs and my lowest lows.  Well we have had our share of Lows, but this was a high  The highest of highs, the epitome of love and respect and friendship I never thought Tanner would ever have from someone outside our family.  I'm so grateful for these Alta football players, Chipper, Cole, Carson, Alex  there are too many to count and so many I don't even know who befriend Tanner.  To you there are no word of gratitude my heart is too full of love for you. Thank you for being who you are and loving Tanner, you will forever be etched in my heart!
